Professional culture at American Embassy School, New Delhi, India
The American Embassy School (AES) is a not-for-profit, independent international school located in the heart of New Delhi’s diplomatic community on a 12-acre campus. Since 1952, AES has served Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 students from the US and other nations (currently more than 50). We provide an exceptional American education with an international perspective. Enrollment is approximately 1160.

The curricular program is vertically aligned and articulated, standards-based, and rooted in current educational research. The academic standards we use to develop our curricular programs are American and internationally based and include the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), American Education Reaches Out (AERO), International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and other subject-specific standards. In addition, we emphasize the rich history and culture of our host country, India.

Students and their needs as learners are the focus of our strong educational program. We provide a challenging, yet supportive learning environment that is differentiated to meet the needs of all. The school’s motto, “Enter to Learn. Leave to Serve.” reflects the deep commitment to encouraging and supporting student-driven voluntary service.

We seek teachers who are creative and who hold high standards for themselves and their students. Our faculty put in exceptional effort to make us an outstanding school - while still finding ways to lead balanced, healthy lives.

In terms of instruction, we believe in promoting differentiation, creativity/risk taking and problem solving. Our ideal teacher/counselor would be known for his or her excellent combination of high standards, hard work and caring spirit. We are looking for people who help build a sense of community via their experience and personalities. In addition, strong technology skills are expected and frequently utilized.
